In 1999 Bonlec Wind and Solar were developing and distributing solar pumping systems that eliminated the need for diesel engines to be used for powering line and shaft pumps to draw water from the ground to provide life maintaining water for stock and communities in remote areas. The team over time recognised a need for their remote clientele to be able to monitor the levels of the water storage systems without travelling huge distances to and from the bores and well’s they were utilising. Research, manufacturing and onsite testing followed. Over the next 5 years, the result was a product that won Stephen Winter – Electrician and head of the research and development team of Bonlec Wind and Solar the inventor of the year award at the North Queensland Field days.
In 2009 Bonlec Wind and Solar further showcased their dedication to the development of agricultural technology by changing to the name BONTECH. In 2010, Bontech announced the commercial release of the AGMON systems, trademarking the name. In 2019, after 20 years of extensive trials & input from development & agricultural users, BonTech was proud to announce the release of the AGMON 2.0 - A sleeker design with a new range of sensor functions and applications.
